As the holiday season approaches, people begin thinking about family gatherings, fun events, delicious food, and possibly stressing over the perfect gifts. In other words, the holiday season can often mean the most stressful time of the year for some. This blog series will focus on healthy holidays and how to make them happen!
A study done by the APA several years ago showed that 68% of respondents felt fatigue often/sometimes throughout the holiday season, 61% felt stress often/sometimes, 52% felt irritability, 36% felt sadness, and 35% felt anger. Those feelings aren’t the ‘traditional’ feelings you would want to experience during the holidays or see others experiencing. But, the most joyful time of the year isn’t always that joyful for everyone. We did a blog series at the beginning of 2020 focusing on the Winter Blues, so feel free to take a look!
This blog series will cover several holidays from around the world and will share tips and tricks for not just surviving the stress, but thriving through the holiday season and staying healthy, both emotionally and physically. For the next two weeks we will try to help you, and help you help your clients and patients, bring the joy back to the season!
