With so many options out there, it may be hard to distinguish the differences between Health Coaching, Wellness Coaching, Life Coaching, Counseling & Psychotherapy and which one might be right for you, your patients, and/or your practice!
This new blog series will compare the differences between Health Coaching and these other four areas of expertise. For the next four days we will compare and contrast, evaluate, and breakdown the major aspects of these specialties and explain how they relate to Health Coaching, as well as how they relate to one another!
This is a blog series you won’t want to miss, so check back each day this week as we will focus on a new topic each day!
Today, we are going to start by giving you our definition of Health Coaching:
Health Coaching is the use of evidence-based skillful conversation, clinical strategies and interventions to actively and safely engage clients in health behavior change to better self manage their health, health risk, and acute or chronic health conditions resulting in optimal wellness, improved health outcomes, lowered health risk and decreased healthcare costs (NSHCOA.com).
With a better understanding of the definition of Health Coaching, it will give you a head start in understanding these other areas of expertise and how they relate.
Come back tomorrow as we focus on Wellness Coaching!
