NSHC Thanksgiving: What Thanksgiving Means & One Reason We’re Thankful

First of all, we hope you and yours had a blessed Thanksgiving. We took the past several days to give thanks and reflect, but we wanted to start the final week of this Thanksgiving month with a blog after that period of reflection.

What Thanksgiving Means to Us…

Last week we came across a quote by John F. Kennedy, he said “As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them.” Those words have stuck with us over the past several days, filled with family, friends, and food.

As we head into the holiday season, and with the craziness of Black Friday, ironically immediately following or beginning the same day we are supposed to be pausing to give thanks, we are realizing how easy it is for us to enjoy our Thanksgiving dinner and be thankful, but immediately switch gears to focus on our wants and needs. For these last few days of this Thanksgiving month we are going to continue to focus on our blessings and giving thanks.

After realizing how quickly Thanksgiving goes by and how quickly our thoughts switch back to wants and needs, we continued to try and focus on those words of JFK. We here at NSHC are so thankful to provide a service that improves the health, well being, and the overall lives of the practitioners who have learned our health coaching method, their organizations, and, most of all, their patients.

Changing lives is what we do. We are so thankful our interests have led us down this path and given us this opportunity to have such an impact. We are thankful for those of you who have trusted us and our teachings. We are thankful for the organizations who have invested in our program for their staff. And we are thankful for the patients whose lives have been irrevocably changed by this health coaching method.

We will continue to move forward with JFK’s words of wisdom in our minds, gratitude in our hearts, and a continued focus on changing lives.

One More Reason We’re Thankful!

We are so thankful to have the resources to be able to offer several different platforms for teaching our program, especially our CoachClinic®! We love being able to come to you, see your organization in person, interact with your staff, and teach them in an environment that is comfortable to them. Here is a testimonial from one of our CoachClinic® participants:

“The information our nurses gained from the CoachClinic® was invaluable! Having the class onsite allowed us to ask questions and practice what we learned. Going forward, the information gained from CoachClinic® helps us set more patient-centered goals and motivate behavior change. It has changed the way in which we communicate with those in our Chronic Disease Management Program. A great speaker and a very worthwhile program”

Mary Mabe, RN, CCM, CHC, First Carolina Care, Pinehurst, NC.

We hope to have the honor of holding a CoachClinic® at your location in the near future!
