For the next two weeks, we are going to discuss several of the effects of this pandemic including, working from home, virtual health coaching, and specifically the effects of the pandemic on kids, seniors, marriage, and more. A recent article from Psychology Today (Tix, 2020) pointed out that the biggest issue people have in scenarios such as this is the lack of a sense of control. While we cannot control this virus, there are several aspects of life we can control that can help us cope during this time.
The way we cope through this will have a major effect on the future of our relationships, children, parents, and especially our patients. When it comes to our patients, we have to set the example, give them real-world, effective coping mechanisms, and show them healthy behaviors.
While we have some helpful information to share with you over the next two weeks, we also want to hear from you. What are you struggling with? What do you see your patients struggling with? What are you fearful of? We want to see what we can do to support you as much as possible, so if there is any other information we can provide we’d love to try. We are here for you now, throughout this ‘new normal’, and for years to come.
